Junk removal or a dumpster?
These are not two prices for the same service. They are two different labour models, and the cheaper one depends almost entirely on who is doing the lifting and how long you want the job to take.
You are buying labour or you are buying time.
Junk removal
Priced by truck volume
- Our two-person crew lifts and loads everything
- One visit — it is gone the day we arrive
- No container sits on your property
- Works from stairs, basements and tight spaces
- Quoted flat from a photo before we come out
Dumpster rental
Flat rate by size and term
- You load it, on your own schedule
- 3 days, 7 days, or open-ended
- Far cheaper per cubic yard on big jobs
- Needs a driveway and a clear approach
- 2,000 lbs included on the 10-yard
What junk removal actually costs.
Small piles, single-room cleanouts, a few bulky items.
Garage corner, finished basement section, a couple of rooms.
Most of a garage, large basement, multi-room project.
Whole-home cleanouts, large estate jobs, full garage loads.
Volume out of a 12' truck. Against that, a 10-yard dumpster at $495 holds roughly the same as a full truckload — which is exactly why the dumpster wins on big jobs and loses on small ones.
If you only read one section.
Book junk removal
- A handful of heavy or awkward items
- Nothing you want to lift yourself
- Stairs, a basement, or a third-floor walk-up
- No driveway to give up for a week
- You want it done today, not over a weekend
Rent a dumpster
- A renovation generating debris over days
- A roof tear-off or a full house cleanout
- You have help and a driveway
- Volume beyond a full truckload
- You want the lowest cost per cubic yard
There is a third option for small, slow jobs — the dumpster bag. Every rate on this page is on the pricing page, and items we take covers what either option can hold.
Common questions
Which one is cheaper?
It depends who does the lifting. A 1/8 – 1/4 truck of junk removal is $165 – $325 and our crew loads it. A 10-yard dumpster is $495 for 3 days and you load it. For small loads junk removal often wins outright; for a full renovation the dumpster is far cheaper per cubic yard.
How is junk removal priced?
By how much of the truck you fill, not by the hour. Tiers run from $165 – $325 for a small load up to $1,140 – $1,300 for a full 12' truck. Text a photo and you get a flat number before we come out.
Can I do both on the same job?
Often that is the right answer. Put the dumpster in the driveway for what you can carry yourself, and have the crew take the heavy or awkward items — a piano, a hot tub, a basement full of furniture — in a single visit.
What if I can't be there?
Junk removal works unattended more easily: point us at what goes, and it is gone in one visit. A dumpster needs someone to fill it.
