Massachusetts Waste-Ban Items
We can still take these — they just have separate disposal fees because the state requires special handling:
- Mattresses & box springs
- A/C units, refrigerators, freezers
- Propane or helium tanks
- Paint (latex must be dried; oil-based has fee)
- Tires (per-tire fee)
- Yard waste in bulk
What We Can't Take
These items need special routing — usually through your town's hazardous waste day:
- Hazardous chemicals, solvents, pesticides
- Motor oil and automotive fluids (large quantities)
- Asbestos-containing materials
- Medical and biohazardous waste
- Live ammunition and explosives
- Industrial-quantity batteries
