Massachusetts Waste-Ban Items

We can still take these — they just have separate disposal fees because the state requires special handling:

  • Mattresses & box springs
  • A/C units, refrigerators, freezers
  • Propane or helium tanks
  • Paint (latex must be dried; oil-based has fee)
  • Tires (per-tire fee)
  • Yard waste in bulk

What We Can't Take

These items need special routing — usually through your town's hazardous waste day:

  • Hazardous chemicals, solvents, pesticides
  • Motor oil and automotive fluids (large quantities)
  • Asbestos-containing materials
  • Medical and biohazardous waste
  • Live ammunition and explosives
  • Industrial-quantity batteries
